As my journey towards discovering Islam deepened, I found my artistic expressions shifting as well. I began this painting shortly after having said the Shahada.
The Butterfly Effect

'The Butterfly Effect' reflects Edward Norton Lorenz's chaos theory. At a time in my life where I was experiencing the repercussions of minor occurrences and their long-lasting implications, I watched the lifespan of a yellow rose and towards the end of its cycle, I crushed it in black ink and painted the photographs whilst changing minor details to reflect that of a butterfly. This piece was very personal and took exactly 1 year to complete.
